The application of the NFDI consortium NFDI4MSE was submitted to the DFG on time on 15 October 2019. Once again, we would like to express our sincere thanks to all the contributors, especially, of course, to the responsible persons and staff of our co-applicants. This mammoth task was only possible thanks to the good and reliable cooperation in the processing team.

Before the final submission on 15 October, however, a whole host of tasks had to be completed in order to put together the many separate inputs into one application. In the meantime, six of us worked on our final version in direct consultation in the co-working space set up especially for this purpose - literally from morning to night. But even that was fun in the end, thanks to the good, professional atmosphere, a touch of humour in the group and lots of coffee and pizza.

We are now looking ahead: we will have to argue the proposal content further with the DFG in December. The combination of the proposal and this colloquium will then determine our success. Please keep your fingers crossed!
