NFDI-MatWerk – National Research Data Infrastructure for MSE

We support researchers in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) with FAIR data solutions that enable new discovery.

We envision research data management (RDM) that supports every stage of a project, strengthens collaboration through easier data exchange, and integrates materials data from different techniques, including experiments and simulations.

We invite researchers with all levels of RDM knowledge to engage with an ecosystem of adaptable workflows, services, tools, and guidance that support daily laboratory and simulation work.

Do you want to learn more about Electronic Lab Notebooks? Therefore, we provide you an introductory session on the NFDI-MatWerk Youtube channel where you can review presentations on ELNs, using illustrative examples.

Dear materials science community,

In December 2022, due to popular demand, we hosted an introductory session on "Electronic Lab Notebooks". Several ELNs are already in use in our NFDI-MatWerk community. What are the advantages and uses cases of ELNs in the lab? In the online introductory event, our subject matter experts presented for 20 minutes their experiences with the ELNs they are already working with, using illustrative examples. In the process, the basic functionalities of ELNs are illustrated using graph and image data from the materials science area.

Afterwards, we make the presentations available online for you to review. You can find the introduction, the speakers' contributions and the Q&A round on our Youtube channel:
