Yesterday the NFDI-MatWerk Summer School 2023 officially started. From 18 to 22 September 2023, the Summer School will gather participants from different nations, mainly PhD students and postdocs working in experimental and/or modelling/simulation areas of materials science and engineering. The focus of this educational event is clearly on "Research Data Management in Materials Science and Engineering".
The event is organized by Prof. Dr. Frank Mücklich, Dr. Flavio Soldera, Dr. Christoph Pauly and Pranav Nayak from Saarland University as part of the NFDI-MatWerk initiative.
Before today's in-depth sessions on topics such as "Data Management Plan" and "Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) - Introduction, Different Approaches, Selection of ELNs", the participants had the opportunity to get to know each other better in a relaxed atmosphere at Saarland University.
This year's group of participants was impressive in its diversity. There are representatives from the Netherlands, Turkey, Iran, Germany, Russia, Uruguay, India and Morocco. The participants range from young junior scientists to experienced research group leaders. A common denominator of all participants is their experience in research data management and their desire to professionalize their knowledge and skills in this area.
The high quality and relevance of the topics and the intercultural exchange promise a successful and educational week. We look forward to the coming days and are excited to see what insights and impulses will come out of the NFDI-MatWerk Summer School 2023. If you have questions, please contact: officeeusmat.net
