Last chance to register: NFDI-MatWerk Summer School 2024 at Leibniz-IWT in Bremen - Develop your skills for tomorrow!

Hello future research innovators! From 10 to 12 September 2024, the NFDI-MatWerk Summer School will take place at the Leibniz Institute for Materials Engineering (IWT) in Bremen.

If you're an advanced master's student, PhD student, or postdoc, this is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Research Data Management (RDM) - a field that will become increasingly important in the coming years.

Why should you participate?

Research Data Management is essential today and will become even more so in the future. Standardizing research data in a consistent and barrier-free manner significantly increases efficiency and fosters collaboration between researchers and well-designed IT systems. As we move further into the era of digital infrastructures, the ability to effectively manage data will be central to shaping the future of research.

Adherence to the FAIR Data Principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Re-usable) is essential. These principles are fundamental to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and are increasingly becoming mandatory in project proposals, such as those within Horizon Europe and by funding organizations such as the German Science Foundation (DFG).

By attending this summer school, you'll gain the skills you need to meet these challenges. The scientific consortium NFDI-MatWerk (National Research Data Infrastructure), which focuses on Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), will provide tailored information and solutions for managing research data in MSE. Use this chance to develop essential knowledge and stay informed in a field that's always advancing!

• Essential Knowledge: Dive into RDM with practical tools like Python, Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs), and metadata management.

• Prepare for the Future: Equip yourself with skills that will be essential in the evolving research landscape.

• Expand Your Network: Connect with leading experts and fellow researchers.

Important: The registration deadline is 31 August 2024.

Be sure to reserve your place in this exciting program. Visit the official event website for more details on how to register and to explore the full program. This is your chance to build a strong foundation for your future in research!
