Successful Conclusion of the NFDI-MatWerk Summer School 2024

The NFDI-MatWerk Summer School 2024, held from 10-12 September 2024 in Bremen, concluded with great success, bringing together participants and experts in Research Data Management (RDM).

Hosted at the Leibniz Institute for Materials Engineering (IWT), the event gathered 11 in-person attendees and 3 online participants to explore crucial aspects of RDM. The program featured workshops on Python tools by Matthias Buschmann, Electronic Lab Notebooks by Norbert Riefler, and Research Data Management Plans led by Katharina Grünwald. Further insights into Metadata Management were shared by Rossella Aversa and Sabrine Chelbi.

The final day focused on advanced topics such as Ontology-based RDM, presented by Keno Krieger and Norbert Riefler, as well as Digitalization & Change Management, again led by Riefler. Beyond the technical sessions, networking opportunities played a key role, with highlights including a city tour and a socializing dinner in Bremen.

Special thanks go to the organizers, Norbert Riefler and Flavio Soldera, as well as the expert speakers. The event’s success reflects the dedication of everyone involved and the importance of ongoing collaboration in the field of materials science and open data.
