Recommendations for Users
In order to be able to reuse research data, the quality of the data is crucial. Data quality in research data management covers the following areas in particular:
- Data format (special storage formats of scientific data, e.g. vector format, raster format and property format, etc.).
- Data completeness and data accuracy.
Correct citing of research data is part of good scientific practice:
- Citation of data should include a persistent method of identification.
- Data should be cited in such a way that all persons who contributed to the data compilation are taken into account.
- The citation of research data should facilitate access to the data and the associated metadata, documentation, program codes and other materials.
