In order to be able to reuse research data, the quality of the data is crucial. Data quality in research data management covers the following areas in particular:

• Data format (special storage formats of scientific data, e.g. vector format, raster format and property format, etc.).
• Data completeness and data accuracy.
   

Correct citing of research data is part of good scientific practice:

• Citation of data should include a persistent method of identification.
• Data should be cited in such a way that all persons who contributed to the data compilation are taken into account.
• The citation of research data should facilitate access to the data and the associated metadata, documentation, program codes and other materials.
