Overview

The Task Area Strategy Development (TA-SD) is responsible for guiding the overall strategic direction and implementation of the digital infrastructure. TA-SD continuously analyzes the current state of materials science research, formulates strategic plans, and coordinates the execution of these strategies. By leveraging insights from the community and adapting to emerging trends, TA-SD ensures that NFDI-MatWerk remains aligned with the evolving needs of the materials science community. This Task Area also evaluates the effectiveness of implemented strategies, making adjustments as necessary to maintain the relevance and impact of the infrastructure.

Goals

  • Formulate community-driven Strategic Plans: Develop and maintain transparent strategies that align with the needs of the materials science community, ensuring the digital infrastructure evolves effectively. Actively involve the community in the strategic development process to ensure that plans reflect the practical needs and priorities of researchers and institutions.
  • Coordinate Strategy Implementation: Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring coordinated processes across different Task Areas and participating projects. This also includes connecting to other digitalization initiatives in MSE as well as related NFDI consortia.
  • Evaluate Strategy Effectiveness: Assess the impact and effectiveness of implemented strategies through feedback and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments to enhance outcomes.
  • Strengthen incentives for (data) sharing and curating: Develop and transfer today’s mechanisms for incentives and good scientific practice into the digital realm for a successful change process.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure information sovereignty as well as the legal framework for the intended infrastructure.
