About NFDI-MatWerk

Participant Projects

Participant Projects (PPs) are the bridge to the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) community. They ensure that NFDI-MatWerk creates solutions tailored to researchers’ needs, with their development guided through Infrastructure Use Cases (IUCs) based on real MSE research workflows. You can find information on how to submit your own PP here.

Goals

  • Reflect MSE community needs: Ensure that infrastructure development is closely aligned with real research needs.
  • Reflect MSE heterogeneity: Capture the diversity of methods, data types, and approaches across the field.
  • Cover diverse MSE applications: Address application needs ranging from microstructural data representation and creep standards to multiscale simulations and electronic lab notebooks.
  • Enable active participation: Invite additional Participant Projects (PPs) to contribute and shape the development of NFDI-MatWerk.
  • Translate workflows into requirements: Derive Infrastructure Use Cases (IUCs) directly from scientific workflows and data practices.
  • Validation of developed solutions: Check and optimize solutions directly in the MSE research projects.
