A fundamental part of the NFDI-MatWerk project is the education and qualification of MSE students and researchers towards the NFDI concepts, and its corresponding transfer of the knowledge gain from the different Task Areas. However, a significant number of (graduate) students come from other (and also non) European countries, each having their own cultural background and education from their home country. Therefore, dedicated training courses for international students need to be designed and be offered at different universities across Germany to make them familiar with the concepts and tools developed by NFDI-MatWerk. In particular, seasonal schools will be offered. Special attention will be paid to intercultural aspects. Interaction with other initiatives and boards (IUC-01, NFDI-Edu-Train, Studientag MWWT, etc.) will enrich the process. The activities will be carried out by EUSMAT (European School of Materials) at Saarland University. Its long-standing experience in intercultural trainings and summer schools for international MSE students together with its very well stablished international network of universities in Europe and worldwide, is a significant benefit for this measure.
