This SPP investigates new materials with bio-programmable and adaptive capabilities by incorporating living organisms to the material’s composition. Designs with advanced property combinations like responsiveness to multiple factors, resilience or evolvability are in focus. The SPP community works on documentation guidelines to improve data creation and to accelerate the integration of data-driven approaches in the projects at the current early stage of development of the field. Hence, the inclusion of the SPP in NFDI-MatWerk will help the community establish existing and new best practices in the field of Engineered Living Materials.
